No-Cook Digestive Chutney
Why do we give our nearest and dearest all those presents that will kill them off quicker? Here is a great gift that is easy, delicious and healthy - and it is not too late.
You'll need half a pound each of finely chopped dates and dried apricots, one pound of peeled and grated apples, one pound of finely chopped onions and four ounces of sultanas.
Mix in a large bowl and add freshly ground black pepper, a teaspoon each of English mustard powder, cinnamon and dried ginger, one pint of cider vinegar and half a pound of Demerara sugar.
Stir well, and cover.
Put into sterile jars the next day - if you've got a dishwasher put the jars through the machine instead of heating them in the oven.
It’s ready to eat in seven days.
